First I need to explain my absence from blogdom lately. My computer is really really screwed up - such that I cannot connect to the internet at all. Apparently the computer and modem aren't talking, and I can't get them back together again. I'll be installing the Windows XP update later in the week, which will hopefully set everything right. It will, of course, be a pain saving and reloading data, not to mention other programs. So with that in addition to the usual workload, the blog won't be as updated and fresh as I prefer.
Now.... the big announcement. You may have noticed that my profile to the right used to say "Married to Keri, no kids." Well I was accosted by Russell Moore today and informed that it needed to change because life begins at conception. So I'm changing it because Keri is pregnant, due in September. I write that here for those that may happen upon this blog from time to time that we don't get to talk to much, and because it will probably be mentioned (you think?) in future blogs.
So hopefully I'll be blogging soon anyway. In the meantime there's always reading (today it's Martin Luther's Three Treatises and another work on Ecclesiology by some Finnish theologian whose name would be impossible to spell), papers (got one on Buddhism in Sri Lanka coming up in a few weeks), and other stuff to do. So I won't be bored.

Congrats!
Congratulations, Alex. Don't cha feel like wearing a sign on your neck "I'm going to be a father!"? It's an exciting time - enjoy every minute (even though Keri probably won't at first ;O)
A sincere congratulations to you from our entire family. Like you, I probably would not have put it on my blog as a first step.
While officially fahterhood may start at conception, dad-hood definitely does not start until birth.
You will understand in time.
Congratulations!!

Accosted? Well, when you are good at something, I suppose you should stick with it. Congratulations on the news, though.
Well accosted may be too strong... all in good fun.
Thanks for the comments everyone. And, Donna, you're correct in saying that Keri is certainly not enjoying it lately... but she is very excited.
Accosted?! By little old me?
Congrats,
RDM
